The Bitcoin Hashrate Reaches an All-time High
The smoothed 14-day moving average of the Bitcoin hashrate has reached a new high of 270.25 EH/s, whereas the smoothed 7-day moving average has also recovered to levels above 272 EH/s, which were recorded in early November last year.
According to available data, the hashrate of the largest crypto on the market collapsed in December due to a snowstorm that affected the United States.

During this period, a large number of local crypto mining companies made the decision to suspend their operations in order to balance the power grids. For example, Core Scientific, with a total hashrate of around 24 EH/s, reduced its consumption by 17,179 MWh, whereas Argo Blockchain, with a total hashrate of 2.5 EH/s, did so by 1,500 MWh.
It is worth noting that mining difficulty decreased in January by 3.59%, although as a result of the previous recalculation, the indicator moved towards the November peak.
