Circle Changes Name of USDC and EURC

Circle has just announced it has changed the official names of its stablecoins USD Coin and Euro Coin to USDC and EURC.

It should be noted that the new names correspond to the tickers of the stablecoins.

According to the company, it will drop the old names USD Coin, Euro Coin and EUROC gradually.

According to the statement, existing directions will remain the same.

The USDC is issued by the Center Consortium, which includes Circle and crypto exchange Coinbase.

Circle announced last month the launch of USDC on six new blockchains: Base, Cosmos, NEAR, Optimism, Polkadot and Polygon.
